My Answer too the Question below

I have seen all to often marriage fall apart, dissolve and end in divorce. I have heard all kind of excuses for failed marriage/relationship. How about, I just fell out of love. To each their own.

I have been married now for almost 27 1/2 year. Out of that time, my time away from my spouse is about 12 years.

I can say that long Distance Relationships do work. It does take work and sacrifices on both parts.

I can also say that in our time apart, my love, respect and admiration for my wife increase tremendously. So yes, absence does make the heart grow fonder.

My wife and I only dated a total of 6 days before she asked me what I wanted out of this relationship. I told her I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her and proposed to her on the spot. Has our relationship been a piece of cake. I can honestly say no. We are both individuals with our own minds, our own ways of doing things. We realized this right from the start. We have worked hard to make our relationship a success. Yes we have seen a marriage counselor as we had a rough moment, but you know, we both wanted our relationship to work. The key word there being work. You have to work for something you want, not just to get it but continuously to keep it.

She is my life and we have learned to talk, to share, and to most of all enjoy our time together.
